Company History

The history of LaMair – Mulock - Condon Co. goes back to 1865 when Des Moines, IA was a frontier town with dirt streets.  With the Civil War just ending, veterans were returning home and businesses were booming.

LaMair – Mulock - Condon Co.’s history traces back to the general agency established by E.J. Ingersoll as an outgrowth of Hawkeye Insurance Company.  In 1916 Edwin Hulbert Mulock, “Hub” Mulock joined the Willcox, Howell & Hopkins agency.  Three years later, the agency was renamed Willcox-Howell-Hopkins & Mulock. Since our founding in 1865, we’ve had 15 company name changes. In 1966, the name was changed to LMC.

Since 1865, we’ve had 14 office locations. In 2003 we moved to our current office location in West Des Moines.

LMC has a commitment to local independent ownership and a commitment to Central Iowa.
